The (RED) Doll Show

Did you make it to the Girl x RED party this Saturday?

We were so happy to host Girl Skateboards and RED in presenting their collaborative show to raise awareness and funds to end AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. The show, presented by Girl, has an auction running though the end of the week.

You can learn more and explore the dolls at http://www.thereddollshow.com.

ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL. THEY ARE NOT.
AIDS IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH AMONG WOMEN WORLDWIDE. YET IT IS TREATABLE. EVERY TWO MINUTES A TEENAGER IS INFECTED WITH HIV. YET IT IS PREVENTABLE. AIDS NO LONGER HAS TO BE A DEATH SENTENCE. ONE PILL A DAY. FOR JUST 20 CENTS CAN STOP MOTHERS FROM PASSING ON THE VIRUS TO THEIR BABIES.
THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN.

Last Week of Johanna Olk's "Idle Youth"

Let's be honest, if you don't make it to our exhibit Idle Youth by French artist Johanna Olk, you will regret it.

We're open this week Tues-Fri from 1-5pm so you have one last chance to come see this solid body of work — which is almost sold out, by the way.

Johanna's work draws attention with minimalistic, yet strong and sharp paintings that capture the anxiety of growing older.

Each second that passes you're farther away from being able to see this stuff in person, so take our advice and stroll through 1700 Naud this week.

Limited run of poster prints, shirts and totes are available for purchase exclusively here at the gallery. Oh, and must we remind you we always have free beer flowing?

And Another One: Idle Youth with Johanna Olk Opens next Saturday

We are very excited to announce the opening of Idle Youth: a solo show with Johanna Olk. Proudly presented by Monster Children and curated by Innocnts.

Live Performance by Peaking Lights and Venetian Blinds.

Free Admission + Free Beer
All Ages / Dog-Friendly

Opening Reception: November 3rd, 2018 - 7pm
Exhibit Open: November 3rd - 17th

About Johanna:

Johanna Olk studied industrial design in northern France and has always been attracted to imagery and composition with a timeless beauty. Her artwork is refined to what is essential. Simple gestures convey deep meaning and emotion. This feeling carries through in the various mediums she practices including painting, illustration, tattoo, print, and sculpture. The work relates an ubiquitous emotional connection through simplified graphic imagery that reflects life’s everyday melancholy and beauty. Johanna currently lives and works between Guéthary & Paris, France. In her freetime she enjoys wave riding the local beaches in around Biarritz, attending to her loyal canine companion Serge, and lively wine induced evenings with friends.

About INNOCNTS:

INNOCNTS is a lifestyle-based project that manifests itself through various means including art curation, happenings, clothing releases, brand collaborations, and surf/skate related media. We are a mixed grouping of lesser knowns from various international environs attempting to carve out a genuine path of our own. Based in Los Angeles, INNOCNTS started as an brick-and-mortar art gallery in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles and has gradually grown into a larger movement of friends and like minded individuals. INNOCNTS has strong connections to art, surf, and skate communities and continues to present authentic projects and persons doing things their own way.

OUR MUST SEE EXHIBIT: No Se

It’s been a hot minute since our last art show at 1700 Naud, so we’re having another one because we love to stay busy.

We also love art, in particular, our exhibiting artist Andrew Cortes’ art. The LA native’s artistic practice aims to visually depict the invisible, unattainable, and often elusive experiential-flow in life. On october 13th, we opened his show titled No Se (Spanish for ‘I don’t know’), an appropriate title that also answers any questions you might have about our open hours, our plans for the future, and what the hell is going on with the world. So come down, take a look at this beautiful show and celebrate the bliss of ignorance with us. We're open mon-fri 1-6pm.

To schedule an appointment, call us at 323 612 6009 / email info@1700naud.com.

THE HUNDREDS' SPITSET

Well. The hundreds certainly made our humble gallery look way cool for their Spitset earlier this month. Great sets all around by Alexander Spit, Artists G Perico, Guapdad 4000, and Parisa.
